Karis Care Is Here For You

We are an independent, Hampshire based home care provider supporting older people and adults living with physical disabilities, learning disabilities, dementia and complex clinical needs. We work from our office at Four Marks, near Alton, and we have been registered and inspected since 2013.

Everything we do begins with one belief. People should be able to stay in the home they know, surrounded by the things and the people that make life theirs. Our job is to make that possible safely, and to make it feel dignified rather than clinical.

Every decision we take, whether clinical or commercial, is measured against a single question. Is this what we would want for our own family?

Serving you is our greatest privilege.”

Our Story

Karis Care Services was founded in August 2013 by a nurse who had spent years inside the healthcare system and had seen what happens when care becomes a series of tasks rather than a relationship. Visits were rushed. Carers changed weekly. Clinical concerns were noticed late, or not at all.

She started Karis Care to do the opposite. Care that is properly assessed before it begins, planned by someone with clinical training, and delivered by carers who stay long enough to know the person they are supporting.

More than a decade later we are still independent and still local. We have never become a franchise, and we have never grown faster than we could recruit and train people we would trust with our own parents. Families who came to us in our first year are still with us today, and much of our work still arrives by word of mouth from one Hampshire family to another.

What Nurse-Led Actually Means

Many care agencies describe themselves as nurse-led. Here is exactly what it means at Karis Care, so you can compare us fairly against anyone else you are speaking to.

  1. A nurse assesses before care begins

Your first assessment is carried out by someone with clinical training, not only a care coordinator. Health risks, medication, mobility and skin integrity are all considered from day one.

  2. Care plans are written and reviewed clinically

Your plan is a working clinical document, reviewed as needs change rather than filed away after the first visit.

  3. Our carers are trained to notice

Carers are taught what deterioration looks like and what to do about it. Early signs are escalated to our nursing team the same day, not left until the next review.

  4. We can take on clinical needs others decline

Catheter and stoma care, complex medication, moving and handling and support after hospital discharge. Where other agencies say no, we are usually able to say yes.

Our Mission Is Clear

To provide compassionate support to adults facing physical disabilities, learning challenges and to the elderly. We are dedicated to enhancing quality of life, so that the people we support not only keep their independence and their dignity, but go on thriving in the place they know and love.

We are not simply a care provider. We are partners with families in building a life of dignity, comfort and joy.

The Values Behind Every Visit

These four words are not wall decoration. They are what we recruit for, train for and supervise against.

  • Civility

Our carers show civility in behaviour and speech. Caring, considerate, respectful, gentle, gracious, well-mannered and courteous.

  • Compassion

Our carers show compassion in their care. Sensitive, tolerant, kind, empathetic and genuinely understanding of how another person feels.

  • Dignity

Our carers uphold dignity. They respect privacy, listen properly to understand your needs, communicate clearly, speak with grace and maintain confidentiality at all times.

  • Respect

Our carers protect the privacy of everyone in their care. They honour your home and family relationships, respect your decisions and choices, and treat each person as the individual they are.

Meet the People Behind Karis Care

Care is personal, so you should know who you are trusting. Our office team is here every day, and you will always be able to reach a real person who knows your family.

We Can Respond Quickly

Most care is planned, but not all of it. We regularly take on urgent packages after an emergency, a late hospital discharge or a move from assisted living back into a family home.

We cannot replace the love and support that families give. What we can do is take away the practical weight, so that being a son or a daughter does not have to mean being a full-time carer as well.

Ask Us a Question

Still working out whether home care is the right step? Ask us anything. There is no obligation and we will give you a straight answer, even if that answer is that we are not the right fit.

We reply within 24 hours, and the same day for urgent enquiries.

Up to 600 characters. Nothing is too small to ask.
